GC Agriculture have been manufacturing GCA 1050 Shielded Sprayers for Cane Growers with great success. Independent trials of the GCA 1050  by Reef Catchments found that spray costs were reduced by 90% by using Glyphosate sprays whilst still achieving a superior inter row weed kill without any resultant damage to the Cane Crop.

Spraying was able to be undertaken successfully in winds of up to 20 knots without spray drift occurring and an overall increase in final yield was achieved.

With the savings achieved in spray costs alone a typical GCA 1050- 4 Row unit could pay for itself after the first 600 sprayed hectares.
